The Official History of Instant Dogma

(Woodrose, snakes & ladders, Freak Music,
Punk Rock Treehouse and everything else.)
1982/1983

Historical Note:
From this point on things get far less dramatic
and insane, at least for a few years.

LeeAnna and our Personal Las Vegas

Billy Lyons' Halloween Party

LeeAnna Hazel joined Woodrose in October 1982.
Though She was only in the band for a brief period,
her presence was essential. It was a transition
and a break from the past. There was no way
we could get to where we were going without her.
The first order of business was haul back
into the studio and complete Sinner Song.
That plus Guitarz From Marz became the demo
sent to college radio and gave us our first airplay.

Cathi started managing us and doing promotion.
We had our first gigs in Boston and Worcester.
The band played the first of many radio shows at WBRS/Brandeis
and also our first college gig in Lowell. Dave became a stronger lead singer.
Those six months turned us into a professional unit.
However the constant commute from U Lowell
to rehearsal and back again was unsustainable.
Time and Transportation became the final issues.
In
March of 1983. LeeAnna and the band parted company.
Soon after that Mr. Jackson wanted his garage back.
Having been there for two years, it was time to move.
