YOUR EARS NEVER MELT SO GOOD

These were the tracks we made in the period up
to demoing
and recording the Automatic There EP.
More on that later in our story.
The first six songs were recorded August 8, 1983,
shortly after our move to The SAC.
The rest were recorded over the next couple of months.

This was a period of intense experimenting,
resulting not only in our demos, but also material
by Condition Red and Freak Music. Some songs were
captured quickly with an eye towards re-recording
at a later date, while others were spark of the
moment realizations that would not be revisited.
Event 6, In My Head, Spirits, The Heat is On and
At The Scene of The Crime were released as
an airplay/gig demo to some local rags and radio stations.

Through all of this, we kept gigging
and trying to establish a following. It was tough.
We played a lot of empty clubs.

Our next plan to take over the world began to form.
We needed to put out some vinyl. It would get us airplay
and help establish us. An album would be too expensive,
but an EP might be do-able. Cathi was willing to
put up some of the money. All that was left was
to book some recording time and find a Record Producer.
