Stuff happened after the move to Milford. We bought a VHS-C editing deck and finished the Woodrose Comedy Hour. Dave's studio commute got much, much longer. We started hanging out with Condition Red (Mick and Eric) as their band was slowly imploding. Then on January 5th, 1986, the day after Cathi's birthday, Geofrey-Nicholas Blake came along. |

Gigs became fewer over the course of a year and half. We had gone as far as we were going to go, creatively and economically. On July the 2nd, Woodrose played our last gig, our fourth and final appearance on the WBRS program, The Joint. We continued rehearsing and recording through 1987, but the steam had gone. Dave started showing up less. There was disagreement about the direction of the group. Songs were getting more elaborate, also taking a excessive amount of time to record. The truth is we were hostages to the inertia. We'd been doing it so long, we didn't know how to stop. Go Here to check out the last recordings |
In late summer '87, Cathi, Geof (all of one and half) and I were gifted a trip to the West Coast. From August 23rd to September 5th we traveled to Oregon, Washington State and California. I also had the insane idea of making a music video... so we did. It was an adventure, astoundingly beautiful. And... when we got back, Dave quite the band. It was officially over. |
