The Woodrose saga has heroes, villains and benefactors.
Our advocates were our friends, the true believers.
Kevin, Paul, Festy, Billy, Mick, Tim, Don, Randy, Eric and Debbie, they were there for us.
They helped sustain us.
Mark Lynch, Dave Mawson, Richard Cromonic,
Dave Donald and Danny Kasnitz were also very kind
and essential in our journey.
There were bandmates who changed
and helped steer Woodrose.
Steve, Mick, Joe, John, and Leanna,
each one helped the group evolve.
There were villains, their influence
and damage was meager, better left unspoken.
And there were heroes. This tale has two.
The first is Greg.
He was joyous, indefatigable, dedicated to the cause.
He helped keep our creative compass truth north.
Greg was the reason we acted in good faith.
Basically, he put up with a lot of crap.
He and I would continue, onto Banzai and beyond.
The second hero is Cathi.
Her energy, commitment and assistance were essential.
There would be no gigs, no publicity, no video,
no Automatic There and no story, if it wasn't for her. Cathi never got the support or credit she deserved.
In the end, we we're against the 80's grain
and uninterested in trends. For some bizarre reason
we believed we would be financially successful,
as the band hemorrhaged cash. In the end,
I believe we were creatively successful
or if nothing else, sincere.
