The Official History of Instant Dogma

(Woodrose, snakes & ladders, Freak Music,
Punk Rock Treehouse and everything else.)
1984/1985
Video and stuff

In the summer of 1984 we acquired a black and white
video recorder and camera. We immediately began
video taping everything. Sadly, with a few exceptions,
most of this footage has been lost.
Thus began the Woodrose Black and White Radio Hour
(which would slowly morph into the Woodrose Comedy Hour.)

Black and white footage intergrated
into The Woodrose Comedy Hour
(More on that later in our story.)

That fall we scored a Quasar VH5041XW top loading VCR,

a camera to VCR power supply/converter and a Panasonic PK-957
Newvicon tube video camera (as well as a sixty foot cable.)
At the same time we were gigging out and starting to promote
Automatic There. Our last show of 1984, was a third performance
on WBRS. We video taped the whole show and multi-tracked it.

It was early 1985 that we shot the infamous Derrick Tie's Rock Time,

featuring Mick Lawless, Greg, Don Morin and of course Derrick.
The premise was a cheesy public access show.
We had no script, everything was improvised, method acting m
atey.
