Winter 1980 would end with one last gig as a five piece at The Jade Fountain. It was a Christmas party. We played an atonal version of Jingle Bells, vexed those in attendance and (because we ate cheap Micky D's for dinner) damned near flatulated Greg off the drum stool. Joe quite for the first time after. We would soldier on until spring, as a four piece. We played a couple of gigs. Then Mick returned to the fold. |

After a series of unsuccessful and moderately successful relationships (depending on how you measure success) I met Cathi Pettit and promptly moved into her apartment in Boxboro. We would be thrown out (mostly due to me;) We moved into Steve Cormier's apartment in Marlboro. We lived across from a Dairy. Life was good or at least cheap. |

It was also at this time that Kevin Wirtz, one of The Rude Crew, went to Florida. He never made it back, perishing in a car crash in Boca Raton. This would effect the band greatly. The night we got word, Greg and I saw a UFO in Carlisle and the power went out all over Concord. Kevin's fave group was the Doors. “when the music's over, turn out the lights.” |
