The CD Release Show

Spring

By March Bob, I and the band had completed recording
The Country That Never Was. Joey Mars was conscripted for artwork
and we made of a video of one of the songs (Sixty Dollar Draw.)
Bob went all out for this album. He was able to finance a full release
and devoted incredible attention to the whole process.
The Country may be the disc I am most proud of. It was the most
ego-less project I have ever worked on. There was no resistance.
chalk most of that up to Bob and Greg's groove during the
basic sessions. It was almost telepathic. When Bob first mentioned
the idea, we both decided, that if after one song it was obviously
not working, we'd treat the whole thing like office sex and pretend
it never happened. Instead we all blinked and a record had been
made. Bob booked the Green Rooster for the CD release show,
Keith Prescott and I taped it. It was a lovely night.

Also during that spring, James Keyes and I worked on his
second solo project, Ruminations. Jim had a much better
idea of how it wanted it to sound, than his previous project.
Featured on the project were:
Morgan Freeman (Hoodrat) - Bass,
Jim Berkely - Banjo and Mandolin
Greg Sullivan - Drums and Jason James  - Piano

Pete Zolli's OCD.)
These rehearsals were for
Erica Zolli's wedding,
34 songs in two and half months
(don't try that at home kids.) Erica was married on
7.8.09
